D for Depression

Forty-two people who were suffering from major depression and who had low or borderline-low levels of vitamin D were given either Prozac plus 1,500 IU of vitamin D or Prozac and a placebo for eight weeks. . . .

Symptoms of depression improved in both groups, but, by the end of the fourth week, there was significantly greater improvement in the vitamin D group.

So, if you are struggling with depression, and your medication is not helping, then, especially if you are low in vitamin D, supplementing vitamin D may herlp.
