Olive Oil Reduces Risk of Coronary Artery Disease

Several studies have shown that using olive oil is good for blood pressure and other risk factors for heart disease. The latest study shows that olive oil is great for preventing coronary artery disease (CAD). . . .
This massive case controlled study looked at 2,565 people and compared those with CAD to those without. The researchers found that olive oil consumption is associated with a decreased risk of developing CAD. In fact, they found that for people who used olive oil as their exclusive oil, the decrease in risk was a huge and significant 37%.
This is the third olive oil study we’ve written about in the past few weeks. Earlier on our blog, we talked about a study that showed that extra virgin olive oil decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease and about another study that showed that extra virgin olive oil reduces the risk of breast cancer.
