Is the Safe Alternative to BPA Safe?
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemically commonly found in hard, clear plastic bottles and in the lining of cans used for canned food. BPA mimics estrogen in the body and is associated with heart disease, diabetes, obesity, male and female infertility and poycystic ovarian syndrome.
Bisphenol S (BPS) has been considered a safe alternative to BPA. . . .
Recent research, though, has found that even a low concentration of BPS, at levels likely to be found in food, is linked to disruption of estrogen, altered cell proliferation and cell death. These effects on the body could lead to electrolyte imbalances, disruption of growth and development, metabolic dysfunction, behavioural problems, reproductive problems and lactation failure.
