As many as 10% of women in the world suffer from endometriosis. That’s insane number of women to be in pain. It’s ridiculous that none of them are told that something as inexpensive, noninvasive, safe and simple as garlic could help.

Endometriosis occurs when endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus. That can cause pelvic pain, back pain, painful periods, painful intercourse, painful bowel movements, intestinal discomfort, bleeding between periods or irregular menstrual flow.

A new triple-blind, placebo-controlled study offers the hope that supplementing garlic can help.

120 women between the ages of 20 and 45 who had endometriosis and were receiving standard treatment were given either a placebo or 400mg of garlic powder, containing 1,100mcg of allicin, a day for 3 months.

During the 3 months, overall pain increased significantly in the placebo group. But it decreased significantly in the garlic group. The difference between the two groups was significant.

At the end of the study, compared to the placebo group, the garlic group had significantly lower scores for pelvic and back pain, painful periods and painful intercourse.

Offering great hope to a great number of women, the researchers conclude that “garlic extract could reduce the symptoms of endometriosis.”
