Resveratrol Helps Diabetics

Diabetes is common and getting commoner. A safe, natural supplement that really helps would help a lot of people. Here’s one you may not know.
Resveratrol is a plant compound similar to flavonoids. It is found in the skin of grapes and mulberries as well as in dark chocolate and peanuts. Resveratrol in supplements usually comes from the herb Japanese knotweed. There have been hints in the research that resveratrol may benefit type 2 diabetes.
So, researchers tried putting all those hints together to see if resveratrol really works. They conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of 15 controlled studies. Altogether, there were 896 type 2 diabetics in the study.
The results showed that resveratrol significantly lowers insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and HbA1c. That resveratrol lowers HbA1c is an important finding because HbA1c is the most important marker of long term blood sugar and diabetes control.
The results also showed that resveratrol significantly lowers fasting glucose and fasting insulin.
Resveratrol did all of this safely.
