Pesticide & Herbicide Cause Cancer in Kids
Now there is another reason to be concerned about pesticides and herbicides. Harvard researchers have determined that they increase the risk of childhood leukemia and lymphoma. . . .
Scientists have been concerned about the possible effect of pesticides and herbicides on cancer in children. So, Harvard researchers conducted a meta-analysis of all the research up to 2014. Their meta-analysis included sixteen studies.
They found that being exposed to insecticides inside the house increases the risk of childhood leukemia by 47% and childhood lymphoma by 43%.The risk increases with the frequency of insecticide exposure. Exposure to outdoor herbicides also increases the risk of childhood leukemia by 26%.
Though the increase was not statistically significant, exposure to pesticides and herbicides was also associated with an increase in childhood brain tumours.
How’s that for a huge reason to stay away from pesticides and herbicides?
