Parkinson’s disease affects at least 1% of people over 60 around the world. New research points to something safe and natural that just might help all those people.

Parkinson’s is the second most common age-related degenerative brain diseases and the most common movement-related brain disease. It affects the nervous system and causes tremors, stiffness, slowing of movement and balance and coordination difficulties. Your face may become more expressionless, your arms may stop swinging when you walk and speech can become soft or slurred. Parkinson’s can also cause depression and constipation.

A new meta-analysis of 9 controlled studies looked at the evidence supporting the use of probiotics in people with Parkinson’s. Perhaps surprisingly, people with Parkinson’s have intestinal dysbiosis and gastrointestinal dysfunction.

The study found that taking probiotics significantly improves motor symptoms and constipation as well as depression and anxiety.

This study suggests a safe, simple, accessible and affordable way to improve life for people with Parkinson’s disease.
