Here’s a Really Good Reason to Take Vitamin D!

Everybody’s got to die. But why do it before you have to? How much can vitamin D help? You’ll be surprised!
This study wanted to see what effect blood levels of vitamin D have on dying from any cause or specifically from cancer in people who have cancer. So, it measured the blood levels of 2,463 people and followed them for 70 months.
What they found was that higher levels of vitamin D up to 75 nmol/L significantly reduced the risk of death during the study from any cause generally and from cancer specifically. 75 nmol/L is in the normal range and may be the minimum level for maximal health.
People who had blood levels between 79.3 nmol/L and 99.2 nmol/L had a significant 41% reduced risk of death from any cause during the study and a significant 52% reduced risk of dying from cancer. 79.3 and 99.2 nmol/L are both well within the normal range.
This large study of people with cancer suggests that maintaining healthy blood levels of vitamin D could be an important strategy for helping you to live longer.
