Green Tea Helps Multiple Cardiovascular Risk Factors

Many risk factors, like high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, obesity and insulin resistance, are linked. Obese people with high blood pressure were given either a placebo or 379mg of green tea extract for three months. The green tea contained 208mg of EGCG. At the end of three months the green tea brough about significantly greater improvement in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, insulin, insulin resistance, markers of inflammation and antioxidant status.
