Eating Nuts Prevents Cancer

We have written a lot on this blog and in The Natural Path about nuts being good for cholesterol and diabetes while not being fattening. Recent studies have also shown that eating nuts is good for preventing cancer. Now important new research adds to the evidence that nuts are a cancer fighting food. . . .

This large systematic review and meta-analysis included thirty-six studies of 30,708 people. It found that, compared to the people who ate the least nuts, the people who ate the most had a 24% decreased risk of colorectal cancer, a 32% decreased risk of pancreatic cancer and a 42% decreased risk of endometrial cancer.

Though previous studies have found an association between eating nuts and preventing type 2 diabetes, this study did not. But these are important and impressive cancer numbers.
