In this study, 531 healthy people over the age of sixty-five were followed for four years while their dietary habits were tracked. At the beginning and end of the study, each senior took the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), a measure of global cognitive function. Chocolate consumption was associated with a 41% lower risk of cognitive decline, as long as they were consuming less than 75mg of caffeine a day.
