B Vitamins for the Elderly: Depression, Memory

A two year double-blind, placebo-controlled study gave either 400mcg of folic acid and 100mcg of B12 or a placebo to 900 elderly people suffering from depression. . . .


   Those on the B vitamins had significant improvement in overall cognitive function, immediate memory and delayed memory compared to the placebo group.
