Are You Prediabetic? Cinnamon to the Rescue!

Prediabetes is rampant. Stopping it from progressing to diabetes is crucial. Something as simple as cinnamon can help.

There’s tons of research showing that cinnamon is a valuable herb for diabetics. This new study demonstrates its value for prediabetics.

People in the double-blind study were overweight and prediabetic. They were given either placebo or 4g of cinnamon every day for 4 weeks.

What was really novel about this study is that it used continuous glucose monitoring. Because continuous glucose monitoring measures glucose over a long time period, it may be a more sensitive measure of glucose.

The study found that glucose safely and significantly lowered glucose concentrations compared to placebo.

This well designed study suggests that an easily taken amount of cinnamon can improve glucose control in overweight prediabetics, which may be very good news if you want to prevent diabetes.
