The Healing Power of Pomegranate

Pomegranates aren’t just delicious: they’re rich in nutrients and loaded in antioxidants. A new study suggests that these benefits may promote health at a very foundational level.

Lurking behind many diseases, disquiets and discomforts are inflammation and oxidative stress. A new meta-analysis and systematic review has demonstrated the potentially powerful role of pomegranate in preventing both these problems.

The meta-analysis included 33 controlled studies and found that pomegranate significantly reduced all the markers of inflammation tested, including C-reactive protein, interlukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α. It also significantly reduced malondialdehyde, a marker of oxidative stress while significantly increasing total antioxidant capacity.

This meta-analysis demonstrates that pomegranate can help your health by reducing inflammation and free radical damage.
