Not Feeling Refreshed After a Night’s Sleep? Try Black Seed.

Do you ever feel like you had a pretty good night’s sleep but wake up feeling lousy and unrefreshed anyway? So do lots of people. It’s called non-restorative sleep. It can wreck your day. But there’s a solution.
Sleep is crucial for physical and mental health. Not getting enough good quality sleep is associated with a host of trouble from obesity, diabetes and heart disease to depression and impaired cognition.
Non-restorative sleep is a special and important component of insomnia in which you feel like you slept but wake up not feeling rejuvenated or rested physically or mentally. The cause is disrupted sleep; the effect is inability to function properly, impaired cognition, mood swings and, of course, fatigue. In other words, it messes up your quality of life.
Recent research is showing the herb black seed, or Nigella sativa, to have a ton of uses, including asthma, diabetes, heart disease, weight loss, fertility, kidney stones, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hypothyroidism, epilepsy, cognition and even more.
Now a study has shown that black seed is a dream herb for non-restorative sleep.
The one week, double-blind study gave either 200mg of black seed extract or a placebo to 63 adults who struggled with non-restorative sleep 30 minutes before going to bed.
Black seed led to significant improvements compared to the placebo. Compared to the placebo, the black seed group had 7.8% improvement in the time spent sleeping while in bed, 19.1% improvement in total sleep time, 35.4% improvement in how fast they fell asleep, and 22.5% improvement in time spent awake after falling asleep. Restorative sleep improved by a significant 68.9% versus placebo.
The black seed extract accomplished all of this with no side effects, a big advantage over sleeping meds.
This study introduces black seed as a potential herb to solve the problem of non-restorative sleep and improve your quality of life.
