Lifestyle Tips for Enlarged Prostate (BPH)
In this month’s issue of The Natural Path (18.5), we took a comprehensive look at the supplements that can help men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or an enlarged prostate.
There are also a lot of lifestyle changes you can make to help. Here is a list of the most promising ones. . . .
1. Avoid pesticide: it increases dihydrotestosterone in the prostate (Acta Med Scan 1967;181:355-7; Proct Natl Acad Sci USA 1983;80:7646-91).
2. Avoid stress.
3. Exercise: just walking for 2-3 hours a week reduces your risk of BPH by 25% (Arch Med Intern 1998;158:2349-56).
4. Avoid beer.
5. Avoid consuming animal products.
6. Eat soy.
7. Avoid storing food in plastic.
8. Antihistamines can aggravate BPH, and long-term use of antihistamines may even contribute to its development.
