The strange looking starfruit may be able to prevent some of the factors of aging. In this study, twenty-nine people between the ages of sixty-four and eighty-one were given 100g of fresh starfruit juice twice a day after meals.

The juice was able to significantly reduce markers of inflammation. Intriguingly, after drinking the juice for four weeks, the seniors were also able to walk significantly further in a six minute walking test than they could before.
