Colorectal Cancer: It Matters What You Eat
A study conducted in Newfoundland and Labrador set out to see if there was any association between colon and rectal cancer and certain dietary patterns. . . .
The researchers looked at the dietary patterns of 506 people with colorectal cancer and 673 controls. They found that, compared to the people who ate the least meat, processed meat and fish, the people who ate the most increased their risk of colorectal cancer by 84%. People who ate a lot of sugary food, like pies, tarts, desserts and sweets, more than doubled their risk.
