Strawberries are Great for Your Heart

In Vol. 7, No. 8 of The Natural Path, we reported a study that added strawberries to the list of heart healthy foods. That study found that strawberries significantlylowered total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides amongst other cardiovascular benefits.

And now another study has demonstrated the cardiovascular benefits of strawberries. . . .

In this new study, 60 people who were obese and had elevated lipid levels drank either a beverage made from freeze dried strawberries or a placebo beverage. The strawberry beverage led to significantly greater decreases in total cholesterol and in the heart damaging LDL cholesterol than did the placebo beverage. The strawberry drink also decreased free radical damage to the cells.

So add strawberries to the list of healthy flavonoid providing berries like blueberries.
