Antioxidants are Good for Your Heart
This huge study followed 33,713 women for over eleven years. It found that the women who get the most antioxidants in their diet are only about half as likely to suffer from heart failure than women who get the least (2% versus 3.9%). . . .
For the women in this study, the main sources of antioxidants turned out to be fruits and vegetables. Whole grains and chocolate were also important sources.
This study adds to the evidence that many of the risk factors of heart disease are in our control and that easily accomplished improvements in diet can improve the health of your heart.
