For Weight Loss & Diabetes, Diet Soda Is Not As Good As You Think!

A new study challenges the common belief that diet soda is just fine for weight loss and diabetes. It’s not!

This new study included 81 women who had type 2 diabetes and who were overweight. They all adopted a weight-management program, but half of them continued to drink 5 diet sodas a week while half replaced them with water.

After a year and a half, the women who were drinking water lost significantly more weight: 15 pounds versus 10.6 pounds in the diet soda group. Significantly more women in the water group also achieved remission of their diabetes: 90% versus 45%.

Other significant benefits seen in the water group included BMI, fasting glucose, after eating glucose, insulin, insulin resistance and triglyceride levels.

This study points to a simple, inexpensive, healthy way to improve results of weight loss and diabetes programs. And, of course, it’s safe.
