pomegranate juice increase antioxidants after exercise

Heavy workouts can produce free radical damage in your body, and free radical damage is bad news. The answer is antioxidants, and pomegranates are powerhouse sources of antioxidants. So, could drinking pomegranate juice make your workout healthier.

To see, this double-blind study gave 19 members of the Polish Rowing Team either 50ml of standardized pomegranate juice or a placebo every day for two months. When they performed a 2000 m test on the rowing ergometer, total antioxidant capacity was significantly higher in the pomegranate group during the resting period.

This is not the first study to show that pomegranate juice can increase antioxidants after exercisee. At least two previous studies have also shown that pomegranate juice can increases antioxidant activity and decrease free radical damage from exercise.
