dark chocolate helps fatigue caused by multiple sclerosis

The best—and cruelest—kept secret about Multiple Sclerosis is that diet really helps. And now it turns out that the most delicious possible addition to your diet adds even more help.

80% of people with MS suffer fatigue. But, you’ll never believe what happened when researchers gave people with MS-related fatigue chocolate.

People with MS fatigue were given either a high flavonoid cocoa drink or a low flavonoid placebo cocoa drink. And the ones who got the high flavonoid cocoa drink reported moderate improvements in fatigue throughout the day. That the chocolate helped fatigue throughout the day, and not just right after drinking it, may be important because MS-related fatigue tends to get worse as the day goes on.

So, in addition to following a healthy MS diet, you may want to try eating or drinking some dark chocolate. By the way, in case you’re wondering, everyone in the study completed it, they all complied by drinking their chocolate, and they reported enjoying taking their chocolate!
