declining-sperm-counts-threaten-male-fertility

One of the little discussed markers of the threat to human survival is the idea that sperm counts are plummeting. Over twenty years ago, the warning was first issued that “There has been a genuine decline in semen quality over the past 50 years. As male fertility is to some extent correlated with sperm count the results may reflect an overall reduction in male fertility (Br Med J 1992;305:609–13)”. A decline in sperm count means a decline in fertility. And a decline in fertility is a threat to the survival of humans.

Because of the importance of this question, researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the research to determine definitively if sperm counts are actually diminishing. . . .

There are many reasons why sperm counts could be shrinking. In our book, The Natural Sex Book: Natural Solutions for Fertility, Virility, Libido and Reproductive Health, we list a least 10: overheated testes, obesity, infection, candida, celiac disease, smoking, alcohol, caffeine, recreational and pharmaceutical drugs, stress, not enough exercise and things that increase estrogen: diet, heavy metals, pesticides and plastic.

In our book, we cite research that discovered that sperm counts have dropped by 40% since the 1940’s (Br Med J 1992;305:609-13; Ugeskr Laeger 1993;155:2530-5): turns out the news is even worse.

The just published meta-analysis of 185 studies found that in Western culture (North America, Europe Australia & New Zealand), sperm count has declined, not by 40%, but by a significant 52.4% between the years 1973 and 2011. That means that men in Western culture are producing less than half the sperm they were producing only 4 decades ago.

That also means, according to the studies authors, that an increasing proportion of men in Western culture have sperm counts below the fertility threshold.

We are becoming infertile!

In The Natural Sex Book: Natural Solutions for Fertility, Virility, Libido and Reproductive Health, we discuss more than 10 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and herbs that have been proven to increase sperm count.
