ginger is as effective as and safer than drugs for postoperative nausea and vomiting

Ginger is a powerful treatment for nausea. It has proven its power for all kinds of nausea from motion sickness to morning sickness. This new study wanted to see how good it is for postoperative nausea and vomiting. So, it compared it to three antinausea drugs, and guess what happened!

This double-blind study compared ginger to haloperidol, metoclopramide and dexmedetomidine in 88 people undergoing laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia. When it came to both nausea and vomiting, the ginger was just as powerful as the drugs: there was no significant difference.

But, according to the researchers, there is one difference: ginger has fewer side effects. So, ginger wins! When it comes to postoperative nausea and vomiting, ginger is as effective and safer. Ginger is both powerful and gentle!
