Over 16,000 women who were seventy or older took part in a two year study that looked at the effect of eating berries on thinking and memory.

The study found that the women who ate the most blueberries or strawberries had significantly lower rates of cognitive decline. Amazingly, the results showed that women who ate the most berries delayed cognitive decline by two and a half years: that means they had the brain functioning of women who were two and a half years younger.
