lemon balm significantly reduces blood pressure

Lemon balm is a beautiful herb. It is a herb that brightens up everything. It is great for calming your nerves. But new research suggests it may be just as good at healing your heart.

Lemon balm is one of the best calming herbs. It is great for nervousness, nervous stomach disorders and insomnia. It is also a great antiviral, especially for herpes viruses.

But, as we discuss in our book, Healthy Herbs: Your Everyday Guide to Medicinal Herbs and Their Uses, it also has a long, traditional reputation as a heart tonic that can even lower blood pressure.

As it so often does, it turns out that tradition is true. A new double-blind study has found that lemon balm really does lower blood pressure.

In the study, people with high blood pressure were given either a placebo or 400mg of lemon balm a day for 4 weeks. The lemon balm significantly reduced both diastolic and systolic blood pressure compared to placebo.

Not surprisingly for such a gentle herb, there were no significant side effects.

This study validates traditional herbalism’s claim that lemon balm lowers blood pressure.

An earlier double-blind study also found that lemon balm can significantly lower the bad LDL cholesterol.
