fruit and vegetables prevent cognitive disorders like Alzheimer's

That diet is crucial to the health of the body is well established by the science and well known to everyone. That it is crucial to the mind is less recognized. You know that eating lot of fruit and vegetables is crucial for optimizing your health and preventing chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes, but did you know that it is also crucial for optimizing your cognitive health and preventing cognitive disorders? . . .

This just published systematic review and meta-analysis looked at 6 studies that looked at the amount of fruit and vegetables people eat and their risk of developing cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and cognitive impairment. The studies included a total of 21,175 people.

The combined results of the 6 studies showed that eating fruit and vegetables reduces your risk of developing cognitive disorders. And the reduction is impressive: eating fruits and vegetables reduced the risk by 26%.

This meta-analysis is not the first to show the power of fruits and vegetables to maintain your brain. An earlier meta-analysis of 9 studies found a 20% reduction in risk of cognitive impairment and dementia in people over 65.

How could there be a simpler, easier and more delicious way to preserve your brain?
