curcumin improves memory and fatigue in seniors

Even if your already healthy, that doesn’t mean you can’t be better! Can curcumin make your memory stronger?

Two studies by the same group of researchers have now suggested that curcumin can improve memory.

In the first, 60 healthy people between the ages of 60 and 85 were given either curcumin or a placebo. The double-blind study found that curcumin significantly improves working memory. It also improved fatigue, fatigue caused by stress and even calmness and contentedness (J Psychopharmacol 2015;29(5):642-51).

That first study lasted 4 weeks. The second study was similar in design but lasted longer and also included slightly younger people. This 12 week version of the study gave either curcumin or a placebo to 80 healthy people who were between the ages of 50 and 80. It also found that curcumin significantly improves working memory. And, once again, curcumin significantly improved fatigue (Nutrients 2020; 12(6),1678).

These two studies suggest that in addition to all its many other benefits, curcumin may help your memory.
