bacopa improves memory in people with Alzheimer's

If you’d heard of this herb, you’d remember. Because it makes you remember.

Bacopa is one of the most exciting new supplements for memory and Alzheimer’s disease. Lots of double-blind studies show that bacopa can boost attention and memory in healthy people. But, the really exciting news is that it is even able to help memory impairment in people with Alzheimer’s.

A recent review of the research on bacopa and Alzheimer’s included two “major” studies. When a double-blind study compared bacopa to a placebo for 12 weeks, it found that the people treated with bacopa had significant improvement in total memory scores compared to the placebo group. Logical memory benefited the most.

A second double-blind study found that 300mg a day of bacopa a day brought about “remarkable improvement” in verbal learning, memory acquisition, and delayed recall.

This review joins a growing body of research that points to bacopa as a very promising herb for memory and Alzheimer’s.
